Profile Annie Mae Miller

Annie Mae Miller, Board Chair I saw the light of day on a sunny morning in rural Nova Scotia, a home delivery with an untrained midwife. I attended a rural school and the benefits of a country upbringing were to be a great help to me during my career as a nurse. I graduated as a nurse from Glace Bay General Hospital, followed by studies at the Royal Victoria Hospital in Montreal and at University of British Columbia.

Time has been spent travelling while employed in London, England and Lahore, Pakistan. I have resided in Duncan, BC for forty two years since marrying John. I nursed in the local hospitals and spent many years with Public Health before retiring.

Traveling, Curling, Lawn Bowling, gardening and Volunteering for various organizations occupy any spare moments of my day.

Profile Karen Kryzanowski

Karen Kryzanowski, Executive Director In February of 2006 Karen Kryzanowski became the Coordinator (now Executive Director) of Seniors Resource and Support Society-Cowichan. The myriad of tasks that the job entails singularly suits Karen's life experience and work history. For over 25 years Karen worked with women/children at risk in a counseling capacity. In addition, with a variety of work related situations, she planned, organized and saw to completion major events and conferences.

Due to major life changes Karen then decided to further her education at the University of Northern British Columbia and completed a Bachelors degree with a major in History and minor in Human Geography. With an extensive background in administration, Karen is ideally suited to look after the day-to-day operations of this dynamic organization.
